FORESTERS.

There was a good attendance of members at the last meeting of Court Pride of the Leith, when P.C.R. Bro. Gaudin presided in the absence of the C.R. A large amount of routine business was transacted, and it was resolved to visit Court Saint Andrews next month on the occasion of _ its anniversary. The C.R. gave a special welcome to the old members present, and D.T. Bro, J. Hope and' Bro. J. M'Connell responded. Now that the meeting room has been entirely renovated and enlarged, it was agreed to repair and polish all the respect boards before replacing them. Reports were given on visits to sister courts. Two new members were admitted, and three nominations received. Following the meeting a pleasant time was spent at cards. The fortnightly meeting of Court Excelsior was held in the court room, Mornington. on Tuesday last, with C.R. Bro. J. T. Wilson in the chair. The judges of the general efficiency and ritual competition were present, and commented fav; ourably on the working of the court. Invitations were accepted from Courts Saint Andrew's and Pride of Dunedin. Two new members were admitted. After the meeting a Scotch evening was hold, which was most successful. The cribbage team from this court has qualified to play off in the final for the Kmg Edward Pride shield. Court Pride of Green Island held its usual meeting on Wednesday last, C.R. Bro. W. Kane being in the chair. Invitations were accepted from Courts Pride of Dunedin and Enterprise to take part in a card tournament. It .was decided to invite the local branches of the P.A. and U.A.O.D. to a social function in April. P.C.R. Bro. J. T. Barnes gave a report on the tournament held at Court King Edward’s Pride. The C.R. was granted leave of absence from next meeting. Three new members were admitted. At the conclusion of the meeting the members spent a short time playing cards. r The usual meeting of Court Pride of Gore was held on Thursday last at the band room. Gore, when there was a good attendance, with C.R. Sister Reid in the chair. A hearty welcome was extended to I.P. D.C.R. Bro. Vercoe and D.B. Bro. H. C. Williamson, who were on a tour of inspection, along with other district officers of the courts in Southland. Both these officers gave interesting and helpful addresses. On-e new member was admitted. Arrangements were discussed regarding the annual district meeting 3 which will be held at Gore at Easter. After the meeting closed, a most enjoyable social and dance was held, and members dispersed at a late hour. The fortnightly meeting of Court Woodland's Pride was held on Monday last, when a large attendance of members was presided _ over by C.R. Sister Powell. Official visits were received from Courts Pride of the Leith and Excelsior. The toast of the visitors was responded to by Bros. D. S. Munro and Brown. Two new members were duly initiated, and one nomination was received. A dance was held at the close of the meet*, hip. Sister Fraser acting as musician. The last meeting of Court Queen of Green Island attracted a large attendance of members, and was presided over by C.R. Sister C. Kane. A visit was received from the judges of the ritual and a creditable performance of the initiation ceremony was giwm by the officers, one new member being admitted. P.C.R. Sister M. Orange gave an interesting report on her visit to Court Lady Glasgow at Wellington. On the event of her marriage a “gift” kitchen evening was tendered to P.C.R. Sister J. Kane, and eulogistic references were made to the services rendered by the recipient. A pleasant function terminated with a social.
