Eighty-six passengers by the Aorangi were brought to the city this morning, leaving about 16 people on Alotuihi, waiting until their vaccination “ rakes.” After dinner last night the members of the quarantined party passed a hearty vote of thanks for all that had been done for them by the health official, the caretakers, and the fine set of stewards who had been so assiduous in catering for tbeir comfort. It is stated that the accommodation and food were good, and plenty of amusements were organised.# VESSEL REACHES SYDNEY. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 28. (Received Feb. 28, at 11.50 p.m.) The Aorangi arrived at 4 o’clock this afternoon. The passengers were landed at the quarantine station for the strictest examination, but a number were released to-night. The vessel will go to her ordinary berth to-morrow. A LATER MESSAGE. PASSENGERS NOT RELEASED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 28. (Received March 1, at 1.15 n.m.) It is now stated that it is unlikely that any of the Aorangi’s passengers will be released to-night. The medical examination was proceeding late to-night, and it was extremely difficult to establish communication with either the quarantine station or the vessel. The mails, however, have been taken off. • A number of golfers in a launch went near the Aorangi, and the international players on board amused themselves by throwing golf balls at them.
