IRAQ AND THE HEDJAZ
DIFFICULTIES SETTLED. THE TWO MONARCHS EMBRACE. (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, February 25. The newspapers here express gratification at the success of the conference between Feisal, King of Iraq, an. King Ibn Sand, which took place off Fao in the Persian Gulf during the ‘ week-end in HALS. Lupin. King Feisal arrived at the rendezvous in the Ncurchus and Ibn Sand in the cable ship Patrick Stewart, and on board the Lupin, which arrived with Sir Franck Humphrys (British High Commissioner in Iraq), the two monarchs exchanged welcomes and embraced, and walked hand in hand to the saloon.
A British seaplane arrived with messages for the monarchs conveying the British Government’s good wishes for the outcome of the meeting. Both Kings expressed gratitude to the British Government and officials for their efforts to end the old feuds between the Arab races and for arranging their meetings. Conferences followed, in which the Kings and their Ministers, assisted by the British officials, participated, and an agreement was reached providing for the establishment , of neighbourly relations and the settlement of' outstanding difficulties. The two Kings returned to their respective capitals after further expressions of mutual goodwill and gratitude for the part played by the British Government representatives.'
