Taverner) drew attention to the fact that Anzac : Day, April 25, will this year fall on the Friday following Easter Monday. “This proximity,” said Mr Taverner, “ makes the problem of dealing with through passenger traffic on Anzae Day somewhat more difficult than it has been in previous years. The Act provides that Anzac Day shall he treated as a Sunday. It ia proposed, in order to conform with the spirit of .the Act. to suspend the whole of the railway time table witb the exception of the ordinary Sunday trains and the express trams between Auckland and Wellington in the North Island and between Christchurch-Dunedin-Invercargill and Christchureh-Greymoutn in the South Island. These expresses are the minimum requirements to provide the essential through services and connections to and from the interisland ferry steamers running on that day."
