AMERICAN “TALKIES”
INVESTIGATION TO BE HELD. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, February 25. (Received Feb. 25,:at S p.m.) The Premier (Mr Hogan) hints that an investigation will shortly be begun into the profits obtained by American " talkie ” companies from Australian screenings, apd a possible amendment to the amusement tax to give concessions to the legitimate stage.
