RUSSIAN PEASANTS
A NEWSPAPER REPORT. MANY MASSACRED EVERY DAY. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) BERLIN, February 25. (Received Feb. 26, at 1 a.m.) A Russian newspaper published here discloses a Soviet campaign against peasants of the prosperous class, known as koulaks, who are openly anti-Bol-shevist or allegedly secret counter-revo-lutionaries. The paper says that at least 40 are massacred every day, while thousands are driven from their farms to face starvation, their places being taken by engineers, doctors, journalists, artists, and actors.
