DANNEA IRIaE, February 25 Robert Gunn M'Leocl, aged 22, manager of the Dannevirke branch of Community Stores, was * remanded on bail there till March o on a charge of stealing £SB, the property of Charles Mackie and others, trading under the name of Community Stores, Ltd. An application for suppression of his name was refused. BLENHEIM, February 25. Emnuml Mahood, aged 21, a recent arrival from England, pleaded guilty to converting to his own use a Buick car valued at £3OO the property of Jeffery M'Glasi*™ Inf s hs ' of Riwaka (Nelson); also the thett of a case of benzine, valued at 19s Cd, belonging to Inglis, and the theft of a pair of boots valued at 20s. the property of E j W. Sharpe. Mahood’s excuse that he had been drinking was considered by the bench to give a more sorious complexion to the offence, considering the grave danger to traffic, and he was sentenced to two months, with hard labour, on the conversion charge, and convicted’ and discharged on the remaining counts.
