(From Oue Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, January 20. BOWLING. , Five rinks from Balclutha visited Milton on Saturday, the former winning by six points. Scores (Balclutha names first): —Bilzon, Sim, O’Hara, Dunn 19, Smith, Groundwater, Clark, Clayton 22; White, M'Cowatt, M'Namara, Poynton 25, Grey, Graham, M'Callum, Price 18; Sinclair, Michie, Hayward, Barr 17, Cleary, Moroney, Lillicrap, Farrell 18 Smart, Watt, Culbert. Riach 15, Lockhart, Robertson, W. G. Wilson, Wethey 18; Wyber, Fletcher, Buchanan, Finn 22, Kent, F. J. Wilson, Hit chon, Devanney 16. Three rinks from Kaitangata defeated Benhar by 77 points to 47 points. Stirling had an 18-points’ win - over Owaka: 74 —56. On Thursday night a Balclutha rink defeated the. Benhar holders of the gold cup by 21 to 17. .• The. challengers were Culbert, Doggart, E. Buchanan, aud Johnston. CRICKET. Clutha Valley, defeated Clutha A ov the first inninngs by 68 runs to 49. A second innings resulted:—Clutha Valley. 95; Balclutha A, 39. The best scorers for Valley were: Carmody (24 and 371 and Quaife (25). Hurring (14) was the only batsman to reach double figures for Balclutha. Carmody and Button bowled psst tor the winners and iTLintock and Moffat for Balclutha, Milburn had an easy win over Balclutha B at Balclutha (120 runs to 31). Bowie (30 not out) was top scorer for Milburn. Bowling: Bowie five for 16, Kane three for 14; while Lennox, for the losers, took sis wickets for 47 runs. SEASIDE VISITORS. Despite the extremely uncertain weather of the past few weeks, the number of visitors to Kaka Point has shown little sign of diminishing. This morning, however, quite a number brought ■ their holiday to a close, largely on account of the weather. Both yesterday and to-day were wet, and a low barometer presages a continuance of inclement weather conditions.
