Dr Colquhoun, who recently arrived from England, is at present on a visit to Timaru. He intends to, travel to Dunedin later in the week, Mr A. Sinclair went to Timaru. by train yesterday morning. Mr 6. Benson was a passenger for Christchurch, en route for Wellington, yesterday. Mr R. Fullerton, the supervisor of new business in the Government Life Assurance Department, is at present in Dunedin. Mr Donald Macdonald, of Edendale, left Dunedin for Wellington by the express yesterday. Mr J. W. Scurr was a passenger by train for the north yesterday morning. He is going to Wellington. Archdeacon Curzon-Siggers and his son, the Rev, W. A. Curzon-slggers, left Dunedin by train yesterday en route for Hanmer. ' Mr J. A. Hanan, M.L.C., was a passenger by train yesterday morning for Wellington. He went north to attend the meeting of the University Senate. Mr C. Gilray also went north to attend the same meeting. Dr Earp Thomas, formerly of Wellington but now of New York, is visiting Invercargill. He intends making a trip to the Sounds by the Hinemoa. Mr Andrew Fletcher has been appointed to the Wellington Harbour Board as the representative of the Government, to fill the vacancy caused by the" death of Mr J. 6. Darkness. At the meeting of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce last night it was resolved that a letter should be sent toj Sir Thomas Sidey congratulating hind upon the honour recently conferred nnaß him by his Majesty the King. Jf Mr T. A. Munro, of Kurow. one oFthc Government appointees to the Otagj/Land Board, has severed his with that body consequent on the eapiry of his term last November. Mr Mnnro has continued to sit as a member of the board until the appointment of his successor, Mr D. M*Lennan. Captain R. J. Redmond, deputy-assist-ant adjutant-general of the northern command, has been promoted to the rank of major. Attached to the permanent staff since 1921, he has held his present post since 1926.
