BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

DOMINION ASSOCIATION. SEVENTEENTH ANNUAL TOURNAMENT. . RINKS COMPETITION. PLAY AGAIN STOPPED BY BAIN. The Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association had another unfortunate experience yesterday. The rinks competition was continued at 9 a.m., and the intention was to complete the fifth and sixth rounds and then to bring the first round, which was interrupted by rain on Friday, to a conclusion. The. weather, however, again proved to be the deciding factor, and it was found to be impossible to carry out the programme arranged. Some rain was experienced about midday, but it was not sufficient to stop play. The fifth round was completed, and about half of the sixth round had been played when heavy rain set in, necessitating a stoppage for the day shortly after 3 p.m. So heavy was the fall that in a short space of time the Dunedin green was almost completely under water.
