CYCLING.
(Pee United Pbess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January G. P. O’Shea (New Zealand) beat H. Opperman (Australia) in the final cycle race over five miles last evening at the English Park Stadium. The Australian made several attempts to shake off his opponent, but O’Shea led into the straight and won by a bare length in 1 Drain 39sec after a wonderful race. Opperman won the Five Miles Invitation Scratch Race. O’Shea being third. Opperman also heat W. T. Weir over two distances of five miles, motor paced.
