REPARATIONS CONFERENCE

WORK OF COMMITTEES. MR SNOWDEN HOPEFUL. (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph-Copyright.) RUGBY, January 3. The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr Philip Snowden) and the President of the Board of Trade (Mr William Graham), the chief British Relegates to the adjourned reparations conference, arrived at The Hague this morning. A preliminary session of the conference, due to take place this evening, will be preceded by a private meeting of the delegates of the six inviting Powers to consider the question of procedure. Prior to his departure from London night Mr Snowden, in a press interview, said: "I do not think our work will be as arduous as it was last time. The preparation has been much more thorough. The various committees have got through an immense amount of work, and it is left for the delegates to fit together the loose ends. Among questons to he considered are ratification of the Young Plan, the international bank scheme, and non-German reparations, but I do not expect that we shall be nearly so'busy.
