Owing to the resignation of Sir Edward Iliffc (Con.) the Tamworth byelection resulted:— Sir A. Stecl-Maitland (ex-mem-ber of the Conservative Cabinet) 23,495 Mr G. Horwill (Labour) ~ .. 12,759 At the General Elections the voting was: Sir E. Iliffe (Con,), 29,807; Mr G. Horwill (Labour), 14,402.
