MATCH AT ADELAIDE. ALL OUT FOR 168 RUNS. PINE BOWLING BY GRIMMETT. (United Pres* Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) ADELAIDE, November 8. (Received Nov. 8, at 10 p.m.) The South Australian bowlers won early success against the English amateurs, who won the toss and batted first in the match at the Adelaide Oval. The wicket and the outfield were perfect but the weather was sultry^ Dawson and Duleepsinhji batted stylishly and Turnbull played a lively innings. The other batsmen, except Nicbols, could not cope with Grimmett’s googlies. Nichols batted forcefully in a last wicket stand, bitting two sixes. His batting was the brightest patch in England’s innings. Outstanding performances for South Australia were Grimmett’a bewling and the wicket keeping of Walker, who is a candidate for the trip to England. England’s innings closed for 108. South Australia did not make an impressive opening against the English bowlers, of whom Bamit; and Nichols were the most destructive, two wickets being down at 34, both to Barratt. A stand was made by Prichard and Richardson, who took the score to 73, when Richardson and • Lonergan were dismissed by successive deliveries from Nichols.
