COMMON ROLL DESIRED. MOTION IN COUNCIL DEFEATED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright ) SUVA, November 5. (Received Nov. 5, at 9 p.ra.) 'When their motion favouring a common electoral roll was defeated the three Indian members of the Fijian Legislative Council withdrew, announcing their intention to resign. Under the new letters patent the Indians elect three members on the communal roll and the Europeans elect six on a separate roll. The Indians want one common roll, and both the European, representatives and the Government / definitely opposed the motion.
