TRAGIC DEATH OF TWINS. INQUEST ADJOURNED. (Per. United Press Association.) . ■ AUCKLAND. September 251 ' The inquest into: the death of William Arran Cubis and Timothy Brian Cubis, the four-year-old, twins. who were 'found strangled at their home at Dominion road last month, was resumed before Mr Hunt, SAL, as coroner.' Df Alexander Gumming, who was called to the house soon“ 1 after the tragedy, said he had found J the children's bodies lying side by side on a bfed, both of them being fully dressed. The body of Robert Findlay, 'C4 years of age,, was found hanging from the roof of a washhouse at his residence in "George street North yesterday morning. In the afternoon Mr J. R. Bartholomew, coroner, held an inquest into the circumstances attending the man’s death. A sister of the deceased said her brother was a single man. He was an engine driver, but had not been able to work for the past 10 years. Three weeks ago witness heard that be had tried to sever the arteries in his arm. He was sent to the Hospital, and later to the chronic institution. On Tuesday witness took him from the institution to their home. She saw him early on Wednesday morning, about- 2 o’clock,' and again at 4 o’clock, but when she went to his room at half-past 6 he was not there. A search was made, and the body was found in the washhouse, suspended from a beam by a clothes line. —Dr Borrie gave evidence .as to‘ treatment given to the deceased in. the Hoa- • pital. The man was a borderland mental case, and required watching.— The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed for the production of further evidence.
