GOLF.
OTAGO CLUB. A match was played on the Balmacewcn Unks on Saturday between the Otago Golf Club and representatives of the Milton, Lawrence, Kaitangata, and Balclutha Clubs. The four-ball matches played in the morning, were all won by Otago but in the singles in the afternoon the visitors prevailed in'three out of the 13 matches. Hie results were as follows • (Otago names first): Four-ball.—Haggitt and Salmon bent Rutherford and Clayton, R. W. Dick-and M-Dougall boat Sumpter and Moore, R. S. Brown and Gibson beat M'Crostic ’and Gilbert, Henderson and Manson beat Clements and Hay, Brabant and Sinclair beat Hall and Clery; Samuel and Anderson beat Clark and Hitchon,, Dawson and Bowron beat Clark and Barnett. Singles.—Haggitt beat Rutherford, L«k beat Sumpter, Brown, beat Gilbert, Henderson beat Grant, Anderson lost to- G. Clark, Dawson lost to Clark, Sinclair lost to Hall, Sainton and Clayton all square, M Dougall • beat Moore, Gibson beat M'Crostie, Samuel beat Hitchon, Brabant beat Clery, Bowron beat E. Barnett.
