HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE.
“RIO RITA.” A packed house witnessed the third of the spectacular musical comedy, “Rio Rita,” which was given in His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday night. Brightness is the keynote of the production, which, besides abounding in sparkling comedy, tuneful _ and catchy songs, and graceful dances, is set in a series of gorgeous scenes. Miss Gladys Moncricff, in the title role, again achieved a triumnh, and in her vocal numbers won the enthusiastic approval of the audience. Miss Janette Gilmore, a comedienne of more than average ability, also scored a distinct success, and assisted materially in keeping the ball of Tun rolling. The remainder of the cast also handled their respective parts capably, Mr Leslie Pcarco, Mr Dave Mallen, Mr Charles Norman, and Mr lan Iredale being particularly worthy of mention. The ballets were spectacular to a degree, and the work of the dancers was of an unusually high standard, an Aztec parade and a moonlight ballot being, perhaps, the most intriguing features. “Rio Rita” will bo staged again this evening.
