PRELIMINARY MEETING HELD. (Per United i-bebs AsspcuTiojr.) ■ WELLINGTON,'May 6. • A preliminary meeting of the Unemployment Committee set up by the Government to investigate ,the problcm, o£:unemploymenl was held at Parliament Buildings this afternoon, ’ ;; ;; ‘Mr W. D. Hunt, who was elected chairman, explained the reasons fot NeV ting up the • committee, which ' wds the outcome of the national industrial conference of last year.
