Tho following rainfall records for the past three months were taken at the Hakataramea Valley School:—February,', none recorded; March, 4.37 inches (heaviest rain for 24 hours ended 9 a.m., March 30. 2.66 inches); April, 1.01 inches (heaviest rain for 24 hours ended 0 a.m.. It was decided to hold the weekly shoots on 'Monday evenings, and the opening date will be fixed when all the requirements are procured. The club will start off with between 50 and 60 members, which is very satisfactory. FAT STOCK PRICES. Advice has been received that the prices of fat lambs and ewes have been advanced by Sd per lb in all grades as from to-day. The .prices of wethers remain unchanged. GOLF. The-golf match on Saturday was declared off on account of the races, and an open day was held for golfing enthusiasts. The knock-out competition has now been commenced, and players may play off by the draw without delay. RUGBY FOOTBALL. Oil 1 nday evening a delegation from the North Otago Referees’ Association, comprising Messrs C. Mollison, J- Palmer. * W'^ lcy ’ k- J- Smith, A. Keith, and A. L. Hodge, met the country referees and several members of the Waitaki Rugby Sub-union at Duutroon. Mr Hedley presided, and after a discussion it was unanimously decided to form a referees’ association, to bo affiliated to the North Otago Referees Association. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, the Rev Mr Taylor; executive—The Rev. Mr Nordmeyer (Kurow), Messrs F. Hood (Ngapara) A. Southern (Awakino), V. Bleach ( iokarahi).
