COURSING.
MEETING OF NATIONAL ASSOCIA- _ TION. . The Council of the National Coursing Association of New Zealand met on Saturday night. Mr B. S. Irwin presided. The Southland Coursing Club wrote nominating Mr H. S. Irving as judge for the New Zealand Waterloo, to be run at Invercargill on July 24, 25, and 26.—The Otago Open Coursing Club wrote nomhiating Mr C, R. Marks.- —A ballot resulted in the oppointment of Mr C. R.- Marks.— Mr T.-Marshall was appointed slipper for the fixture. —It was agreed to contribute £lO as added money to the Waterloo Cup. The Waitara Club applied for the control.of the New Zealand Derby' and Oaks.—-The application was , granted. An' application for, affiliation was received from the newly formed Auckland Club. —The secretary reported that the club had complied with the conditions governing the application.—The affiliation was granted, and Mr B. Ellison accepted as delegate. The secretary of the Queensland Coursing’ Association, submitted .a copy of the progremme relative to the Australasian Waterloo Cup, (o be run on July 27, 20, and 30, at Warwick, Queensland. —The secretary was instructed to take out a nomination. The Wairarapa Club wrote asking if the council intended to adopt the new ruling that recently came into operation in New South Wales regarding the judging of unsighted courses.—To be advised that the New Zealand rule _ must stand until the council was advised of the alteration by the Coursing Union tralasia. The council considered at length the matter of two unregistered dogs named Ben Hur and Beau Geste having taken part at coursing meetings during the past season. It was pointed out that the owners had received stakes to the amount' of £2O and a cup.—lt was resolved to fine the owners, Messrs D.’ and H. M’Pherson, £5 each.
