ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
ANNUAL MEETING OF DELEGATES FINANCIAL POSITION IMPROVING. (Per United Press Association.) . WELLINGTON, May 3. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Football Association was held tonight. There were only three direct delegates present in addition to the members of the council. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. Mr H. I. Graves, when announcing his resignation as lion, treasurer, said ho believed ’ the association would become financial in the next three months or so., , • ; , His Excellency, Sir Charles Fergussqn, was elected patron, and Sir Charles Statham president. The members of the council were re-elected, and Mr W. L. Wilson was elected hon. treasurer. An Otago remit urging the revision of- the Football Association’s- trophy conditions .was referred-to the Competitions Committee. There is'to be no visit from an Australian team nor is a New Zealand team to be sent away. . The question of sending a schoolboys’ team to Australia is to be referred to the North and South Island Primary Schools’ Association, delegates being generally in favour of: the, proposal. It was decided to make a further appeal to - the associations and clubs for financial support. The Wellington Association has paid its subscription and given £3O towards the overdraft, and will hold a benefit match before, the end of the season. South Auckland has agreed to make a levy of Is per member with a minimum of £3O. The Westland delegate promised £lO from his body.'
