UNCONFIRMED STATEMENTS. PERMANENT 1 LOCATION IN WELLINGTON. (Special to Daily Timm.). ' • AUCKLAND. May 3. Statements that thevenue of the Royal Show was to be confined to Wellington in future were referred‘to at the meeting of the'Council of .the Auckland Agricultural and, Pastoral Association. The president ‘ (Mr Mitchell) said although nothing definite had'been decided, there was something “ in the air,” and it was very probable the proposal would be finalised, if nothing were done. “If that is the-position,,it needs the serious consideration of this council to. decide the attitude, we should adopt toward 'the Royal Show Council,” said Mr Pascoe. WJiilc it was admitted that the Wellington Show Association had a magnificent show ground, if the holding of the show there was going to be permanent, a remit of protest should be sent to the conference of North Isjaqd agricultural and pastoral associations and to the Royal Agricultural Society. "I think if.the Wellington Association is going to: hold the Royal Show there every year, they are not going to get any Auckland animals, as the cost of transport would bo enormous,” said. Mr Austin Carr. “If the show is going 'to be ..held there, J think we should withdraw altogether.” “Wc breeders are expected to support the Royal Show,'and-we expect you. to support it wherever if is held,”'said Mr 1 rousdale.. “ After, all, ; wc are an agricultural and‘pastoral association, and we support the.show.. ,-Let ha be fair about it; and if they, supply' transportation, let us patronise'it.” Mr Kalaugher said that transportation was the-key'of the position. It was.decided that the association enter a protest if the Royal Show was to be bold in Wellington permanently, but the association -would not go to the length of withdrawing, from the Royal Agricultural ■ Society!: ’ " - ,
