THE MANIOTOTO HOSPITAL BOARD.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —A number of the letters which have appeared in your paper recently under the above heading, have appeared to mo to betray an undercurrent of antagonism towards onr local doctor. I would like to mention that he is far from being without friends. In a quiet and unobtrusive manner he does au immense amount of good work in and around this district, and, what is more, he does it cheerfully , and, in many cases, without hope of adequate recompense. I think it is high time that he received a little encouragement for his good works, which many do not seem to realise or appreciate. The Maniototo Hospital Board and the residents of the district are extremely fortunate in having as medical superintendent a man so thoroughly competent and of such high integrity.—l am, Unbiased. Naseby, May 3.
