NEW ZEALAND PILOT.
ACCIDENT TO MR MACE. ' (From Our Own Correspondent.) , rk M; F. Mace, an aeroplane, pilot, was injured and his machine completely wrecked in a crash at Forriham St. Martin, near Bury St. Edmonds, on the afternoon of March 10. ■LT^ii e r^ enan^*co^ Long, who lives at Hall Farm, about 400 yai’ds away, heard the engine running badly and the terrific crash which followed. He ran out aud round the machine .a complete wreck and Mace pinned in the wreckage. Five men were needed to extricate the pilot. Althongh the petrol tank burst, the machine did not catch fire. Mace was removed to toe West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St. Edmunds. Mr Mace is a native of Norwich, where his father lives. He had been flying in Australia, and came to England from New Zealand recently in connection with aviation matters. He has been living at .U.atnble*Southampton. H© arrived at Norwich aerodrome at 6.30 on Saturday evening, flying a demonstration machine, and left at 3 o'clock on Sunday: He is suffering from bruises and concussion. ,
.Mr Mace was. contemplating making a flight by light aeroplane to New Zealand.
