The League Secretariat-general states that the wealth production in 1928 equalled that of 1027. The depression in the sugar industry continued. The fight for coal markets was more intense. A lower output in the United States was causing a reduction in the world’s supply. The aggregate value of international trade had increased, but more slowlv ttian in 1927.
