GIFT AS THANK OFFERING. THE KING’S APPRECIATION. (British Official Wireless.) • (United Press Assocltwiou.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, April 30. The following letter has been addressed by Lord Stamfordham, the King’s private secretary, to “ Audax,” the donor of tile gift of 100,000 guineas to the thank offering fund for the King’s recovery:— '‘ Dear ‘ Audax,’—The proto express your gratitude for the King a recovery in the nable and generous manner indicated in your letter is welcomed with a feeling of deep appreciation by his Majesty. The 100,000 guineas will indeed form a splendid nucleus to the appeal made by the Kin" Edward’s Hospital Fund for London, and the King knows by experience that whatever the amount of this thank offermg, it will be wisely and effectively administered by the council. For almost 30 years his. Majesty has taken the deepest interest in the fund, of which Ie ' e president for some nine years, and he realises what the hospitals of London owe to its admirable work and administration.
