KICK INTO TOUCH RULE. VIEW WELLINGTON UNION. iPbb Unjxed Puxsa Association.) WELLINGTON, May 1, The Wellington Rugby Union appears to think that the New Zealand Union has read more into the resolution regarding playing under the old rules than was conveyed in it, . There was a discussion on the subject at the meeting of the Wellington Union, in which members said it was going -too far to apply* it to club matches. Only interprovincial and trial matches were intended. If it was applied to all games there would not be much chance of carrying it. THE CANTERBURY UNION. PRESENT RULE SUPPORTED. « IPes United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May I. The Auckland Rugby Union to-night decided that it was in sympathy with the Hawke’s Bay Union’s protest against playing the All Black trial match on June 3, on account of this fixture interfering with the representative games arranged for that day. It was also decided to inform the Hawke’s Bay Union that unless the Now Zealand Union could put forward a sound reason for an early tour to New South Wales, the Auckland Union-would support the Canterbury Union’s motion that the tour he postponed for one month.
