But it surely does not need the imagination of Shakespeare to see, with the mind’s eye. scores; ’ perhaps hundreds, of these most attractive birds, not only killed outright, but maimed for the rest of their brief existence by the ruthless onslaught of those who. perhaps. till now never tired a gun, and therefore will be all the more likely to wound only those poor creatures and cause them untold agony J—l am, etc..
