TAIERI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A meeting of the Tnieri Agricultural Society was held at Outram, and -was presided over by Mr William Kirk. Prior to the ordinary business the meeting passed a motion of sympathy with the secrelary (Mr J. Williamson) in the bereavement he had suffered through the deatli of his sister.
A letter was read from the 1 - Taieri Fruitgrowers’ Association concerning the prevention of fireblight. The letter suggested a conference with the society at a date to be arranged.—lt was decided to hold the matter over till the next meeting of the society,.and to procure a copy of the Act governing the matter.
The Clydesdale Horse Society intimated that Mr A, Bathgate’s entry at the last show was in order, and that the society’s medal would be awarded in due course.
The secretary read a statement of receipts and expenditure, and also the balance sheet for the year ended March 31, 1919.—This was approved, and was recommended for adoption at the annual meeting. The president, vice-president, and secretary were delegated to draw up the annual report for the annual meeting to be held on May 23 . at Mosgiel.
