well-known English actress, heads the cast, together with Henry Victor, who is said to make an admirable co-star’ in the part of Lieutenant Clive Stanton, a breezy, devil-may-care, romantic figure. The story in brief tells how a girl and a naval officer meet with a . dangerous gang of spies. A few of the “highlights” are’ the hand-to-hand fights, the mobilisation of the fleet, and the romance of the story. EVERYBODY’S THEATRE. _ “ Golf Widows ” is the principal attraction at Everybody’s Theatre this week. The chief element in this picture is comedy though many serious situations arise. The story concerns, the adventures of an insurance salesman, always: ready to issue policies, however risky.- He: has two special .customers .who insure themselves against the elements,, amongst many other things, which could scarcely be altogether carreid through in actuality. But- “ Golf Widows ”is a picture. The two men even insure themselves against losing their wives and-their homes, arid even a misdirected ball at golf practice. Their infatuation for golf leads to home disunion, It is a story, of one set of people being neglected for a game-, and of complications arising that might easily have been avoided. The other picture is “ The Plastic Age,” an American college story. The story has been written with' the definite object of depicting a moral; and shows, in sparkling form, much that may happen “ when the heart is young.” KING EDWARD THEATRE. The mid-week change of programme at the King Edward. Theatre is proving quite popular. “The Valley of the Giants” is the chief picture, arid has such popular players-as Miltoiv Sills and Doris Kenyon in the leading roles. Adapted from Peter B. Kyne’s famous novel of the same name, the picture deals with stern men and silent trees. The story is set amidst the lumber trade in the vast forests of Canada, while throughout there runs a pretty . bit of romance. In support is “The Plastic Age” with Clara Bow in the principal part.
