ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
INJURED BY IRON RODS. (Special to .Daily Times, i AUCKLAND, April 29, The falling of a bundle of iron rods bn to W. Annan, of Newton, was tbe cause of his being taken to hospital this morning. The injured man, who was employed on the new Fletcher Construction Company’s building in Nikau street, Mount Eden, was working on the ground, when the rods fell. One of them pierced his left shoulder and another fell down between his shirt and his back without touching the skin. Annan is a married man, aged 27. r His condition is considered serious. . . ■ WOMAN DIES ON STREET. (Per United Press Association.)INVERCARGILL, April 29. Mrs Anne Nicholson, an elderly lady, residing at Bluff, wife of Mr J. V Nicholson, was walking along Dee street this morning, when she appeared to falter and then collapsed. Doctors were summoned, and pronounced life extinct. DEATH FOLLOWS INJURIES. John Daniel Sullivan Wilson, an employee at the lime and cement works at Milburn, was injured last Wednesday, and admitted to the Balclutha Hospital the same morning, suffering from a fracutred skull adn severe scalp injuries. At the time of the accident he was employed on a truck on which material was being carried from the works. Although every attention was paid to him at the hospital he died yesterday morning.
