THE AIR TRAGEDY
INVESTIGATION BY BOARD. PERSONNEL ANNOUNCED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.! CANBERRA, April 29. The Prime Minister has, anounced the personnel of the hoard which will investigate the forced landings of the Southern Cross, the Kookaburra, and the accident to the R.A.A.F. machine which was wrecked while searching for the Kookaburra, The members are: Cbptain Geoffrey Hughes (president of the New South Wales Aero Club), Mr C. M'Kay (president of the Victorian Aero Club), and Brigadier-General Lachlan Wilson (solicitor, of Brisbane). The terms of reference are comprehensive, covering not only the actual forced landingSj but the questions of provisions and general arrangements. The board will consider the control of long-distance flights in future, and will submit recommendations for regulations to govern such attempts. REPORT FROM GROUND PARTY. STILL AT WATER HOLE. CANBERRA, April 29. ’ News has been received from Wave Hill that the ground party which is proceeding to the Kokaburra is still at the last water hole. The Minister for Home Affairs has ordered a party to set out from Newcastle Waters with caskets to recover the bodies.
