TIMBER WORKERS
THE AUSTRALIAN STRIKE. MEN ORDERED TO RESUME. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, April 20. (Received April 29, at O p.m.) Orders of the court calling upon 38 summoned timber ,vorkers to resume work were served to-day. While the employers’ secretary says- that he does no* anticipate that full results will be appar ent till, Wednesday, the union secretary (Mr Culbert, a Legislative Councillor) declares that nothing that the employers can do will affect the men. If the men do not resume it is anticipated that proceedings will be taken for the imposition of penalties. It is stated that nearly 1500 men working in city and suburban 48-hour a week yards are affected by the strike.
