UNIVERSITY CLUB. The University Harriers held their weekly run from St. Clair Baths, 31 memhers turning out under the whistle of Captain R. H. Cabot. Fast and slow packs were formed at Cargill’s Castle, the fast one continuing along the coast to Green island beach, while the slow pack circled inland towards Caversham. The fast pack met Civil Service at the Green Island beach and the two clubs continued along the beach for about a mile, when the University pack turned inland through the lupins and took the shortest route to bt. Clair, ANGLICAN CLUB. The Anglican Harriers held their weekly run from the Caversham School, some 40 members being present. An excellent ; trail, laid by W. Burridge and C. E. Hoodie, led through Burnside to the Southern Reservoir, following the race for , a considerable distance. Then some very good cross-country running led over the hills to Mornington and hack to Caversham. Provo, Gray, and J. W, Hoodie ran well in the fast pack, while G. Forbes, H. Tyrell, and F. Cameron ran well in the slow pack. CARGILL ROAD METHODISTS. The Cargill Road Methodist Hairiera held their weekly run from the Methodist Church, Port Chalmers, The pack, under the whistles of E. Ridley and M. Hindoo, ran,up the track to the Monument. Following the road, the pack branched off on to a side road, which, after crossing the railway line, led to Deborah Bay. Keeping to the low road the pack ran about a mile past the bay. Retracing their steps as far as Deborah Bay, they continued along the low road, and a smart run home from Carey’s Bay resulted:— L. M'Keich 1, R, Sanders 2.' HANOVER BAPTIST CLUB. - The Hanover Baptist Harriers ran from the St. Clair Baths. The hares, D. Thompson and L. Medlin, led the trail by Cargill’s Castle, bordering the sea coast as far as the St. Clair caves, thence across the golf links. Here the pack was divided, J, Bartlett leading the junior members homewards several minutes before the fast pack. Under H. J. Hayward’s leadership, the senior members closely followed the paper track downwards, sprinting home in the following order: —S. M'Kay, H. Hayward, and L .M'Millan. The slow pack made its way down the steep road leading to the tram teminus, from which a rhn home resulted in W. Armour leading from J. Barlett and C. Stewart. CAVERSHAM CLUBI The Caversham, Harriers held their run from the Mornington School, some 57 runners participating. The paper, in the capable hands of W. Stewart and P. Harrison, led down to the Kaikorai Valley road, up the hills opposite, skirting Mount Grand, and through some excellent country to the southern water race. Here the packs divided, and a race was held, for about, two miles and a-half, several of the younger members showing up exceedingly well. From the reservoir the trail led down to the Kaikorai Valley road and up Barr street home. A fast finish resulted in Harbrow being first, closely followed by Wood, Inglis, and M'Connel. ■ NORTHERN CLUB. The Northern Harriers held their Mile and a-half Handicap run at Forbury Park on Saturday. There was a good entry for the race. The limit men made the pace solid, starting off in fine style. The placings for tho first round were: Howie first, followed by M'Kinley, Armishaw and Henderson, in that order. In the second- round the field drew closer, and the pace slackened somewhat, though it' was still hard. Young, who was running nicely, came into the lead, -while Howie and M'Kinley followed him a short distance behind, Watson being .the fourth man. On rounding the corner of the straight in the final lap, Trochon passed Young, who was now followed by M'Kinley. Trochon maintained a slight lead for the remainder of the run, which resulted: Trochon (35sec) 1, Young 60sec) 2. M'Kinley (80sec) 3. ST. KILDA CLUB. The St. Kilda Harriers held their ahnual One Mile and a-half Novice Race on Saturday from the St. Kilda car terminus. The course led along Lover's lane for about 300 yards, out through some sand to Victoria road, and then to the end of Tahuna Park. Here the runners turned down Crest street, then along Cavell street to Bowen street, this being followed to Queen's drive. On turning the corner, the leaders opened out, and a keenly contested race finished at the Bungalow Tea Rooms. Results: S- Asher (Bsec) 1, F. R, Watson (ssec) 2, F. Greenfield (12sec) 3. Thirteen runners faced the starter. The older members of the club afterwards went for a short run from the residence of Mr C. Buddicom. The pack, under the whistles of Captain A. Foley and Acting Deputy Captain J. Boardman went out to Tomahawk and back. In the run home, J. Boardman. L. Buddicom. A. Bond, and L. Hitchcox showed up prominently, CIVIL SERVICE CLUB. The weekly rur of the Civil Service Club was held from the Caversham school. About 30 members took part. The paper was in the hands of J. Kennedy and C. K. Melville, who laid a rather lengthy but excellent cross-country trail, taking in practically every type of running. The runners were divided into fast and slow packs. The fast pack/ under Captain Stevens and Deputy Captain Brown, made a steady pace over the whole course, while the slow pack, under Deputy Captain Melville, took a sJow jog over the distance! The trail followed Playfair street and Corstorphine towards the golf links, and then acrosscountry to the Green Island Beach. The running along the sand proved rather heavy work, and the packs were forced to moderate the pace. From the beach the, paper led across the paddocks to the Brighton pad. which was followed to the junction of the South road. Along the south road the running proved easier, and. |rom the top of Lookout Point a fast run home was made In the fast pack BR. MKenian was first, closely followed by C. S. Thompson. In the slow pack R; Craig was first followed by H, J. Brown and A. 0. Melville.
