THE OAMARU HOSPITAL.

ro THE SUITOR Sib, —It rather saddened me to read in your letter column to-day a ferocious attack on the poor dog that lives at the Oamaru Hospital. Why, the poor dog hardly ever barks at night; to my absolute knowledge he has only once barked late at night, the occasion being one on which a cow had strayed on the premises, and no one would expect any self-respect-ing dog to put up with anything like that. Otherwise the dog, which is most well mannered, never causes any annoyance. lam speaking with absolute knowledge of facts, as I have for quite a number of months been a patient who has slept on a shelter veranda at the hospital, and I know also that inquiries have been made from patients in hospital if the dog had annoyed them. No patient has replied in the affirmative when asked. I humbly suggest that "New Blood” goes to the hospital for a week and find but how many hours’ sleep, he—or she—will lose through the barking of the dog at, midnight,—l am, etc., Ex-Hospital Patient. Oamaru, February 13.
