ABELIA SCHUMANNI.

All the abolias are very delightful st-nbs, flowering mostly towards the end of summer, and the one under notice is a fine acquisition to the genus. The colour of the flowers is a rosylilac, and they are freely produced. The leaves are ovate and opposite; and are often tinted with bronze. The blooms appear at the ends of the shoots, tho side growths also living their flowers, making the plant very floriferous. It forms a spreading shrub of a rather pendulous habit, making itself an ideal subject for clothing a largo stone or boulder on the rock garden. The whole plant is very distinct.
