MUNICIPAL TEPID BATHS.

OPENING CARNIVAL. A good' attendance - of the public was present to witness-the-opening carnival .of the Dunedin Amateur Swimming Club, which -Was held in the Municipal' Baths last evening. The- numerous- events,- which went. to make -up a varied programme, were well, patronised; and^some, exciting finishes were witnessed. The novelty events provided - much .entertainment and were very, closely contested. Af the close of the carnival an interesting water-polo match was played between a- St. Clair team and a combined Kiwi and'Dunedin team. ■ , 1 ‘
