THE PASADENA MURDER
DOTH ACCUSED FOUND GUILTY. (Press Association—By Telegraph—'’oprngfir. | NEW YORK, March 10. (Received March 11. at 5.S p,m.) A Los Angeles message states that the jury found Hickman and Welby Hunt guilty of the murder of Ivy Toms, a chemist. The jury recommended life imprisonment for Hickman and leniency for Hunt..—A, and N.Z. Cable.
After his arrest in connection with the murder of the 12-year-old schoolgirl, Marion Parker, Hickman was asked if be had killed any other person. He replied : “ I killed Toms, a Pasadena druggist, while Welby Hunt and myself were holding up his place on Christmas Eve last year.” The police immediately arrested Hunt, who strenuously denied the crime. Hickman recalled the details of the shooting, and declared thatHunt was wounded by a policeman while escaping from gaol. A physician examined Hunt, and found a bullet scar tn bis shoulder. Hunt later confessed, but claimed that Hickman fired the fatal shots.
