(From Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, March 9. DENTAL CLINIC COMMITTEE.. A meeting of the Dental Clinic Committee last evening was attended by Messrs J. T. Walter (chairman), Gormack, Algie, Wood, Randall, and Pearson. „ , , Tho resignation oi the dental nurse (Miss K. Paterson) was received with regret. The Chairman said that the clinic had been closed since February 20, and it was resolved to make immediate,., application to the Health Department-; tpj fill the vacant position. , , , The Chairman said that he had received a letter from Nurse Pearson, dated February 20, which showed that the clinic had been performing a very useful work in the community, the number of patients indicating that one nurse could be kept fullv employed, and that it the district were to bo extended the services ot a second nurse would be required, xsursc Paterson’s report showed that since April 4 1927, there had been 1025 visits to the clinic by children; 1130 fillings and 407 extractions had been performed, besides various minor operations. Ino Nurse expressed her thanks to the chairman and members of t.be connnitee tor the assistance and advice they had been willing to give at all times. She regretted having to give up the position, which, however, she was forced to do owing to ill-health. , , The Secretary .(Miss Gow) reported that the committee was now in a sound position financially, owing to the receipt of £ll7 from the recent combined carnival and other amounts. All accounts had been paid, and a sum placed on clcP °lt was decided to bold the annual meeting after tho school committee elections in April. CHEESE OUTPUT SOLD. Stirling Dairy Factory Company has sold its output of cheese from January to May inclusive at Od per lb. The transaction was concluded yesterday, the buyers being Weddell and Co. CALEDONIAN SPORTS. A good programme has been prepared for the Caledonian sports to bo held at Balelutha on Saturday. March 24. The events include a Sheffield, of £l4, for which entries close on March 16, and the following post entry events: —75 Yards. 880 Yards, and One Mile. Piping and dancing events have been added to the programme, and a tug-of-war will be another attraction. Mr L. Scott, Balelutha, is secretary.
