FRUIT REGULATIONS.
FAILURE TO STAMP CASES. TWO CONVICTIONS RECORDED. (Peh United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Marrii 9. Failure to stamp their registered numbers on cases of fruit exposed for sale on their behalf was the charge made against J. A. Gordon, market gardener. Taita, and P. J. Amery, fruiterer, Grevtown. The inspector said that registration not only afforded protection to the consumer but also served to locate the origin of diseased or badly-picked fruit, ana further helped to maintain the rtandard of quality on the market. The defendants were convicted and ordered to pay eosts.
