Ohope Beach on January 18 was held at the courthouse before Mr F. J. Short, J.P. (actingcoroner) and a jury of four. , E. Cooke, a teacher, said that he had seen E. The body of Sarah Emma Francis, aged 47, was found in a pool of blood on the floor of a room in her house in Cranford street, late yesterday afternoon. She had committed suicide by cutting her throat with a razor, which she still had in her grasp when found. An inquest was held last evening by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M. The evidence disclosed that the deceased, who resided with * her husband and family, had been suffering from ill-health for some time. She had recently returned from a holiday, and she appeared to have improved considerably. Looking through a window on his return home in the afternoon one of her sons saw her lying in a pool of blood. The Coroner returned a verdict that the deceased had committed suicide while suffering from extreme mental depression brought about by a nervous breakdown.
