MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Otago Education Board was concluded yesterday. Mr J. Wallace (chaitman) presided. RESIGNATIONS AND APPOINTMENTS. The Waitapeka Committee wrote inviting members to the diamond jubilee function on February 24, 25, and 26.—1 t was decided that the chairman and the local members should attend. The Glenore Committee wrote stating that the playshed was exposed to the weather, and asking that it be turned to face the same way as the school.—The request was granted. The architect was granted authority to erect a new tank and repair woodwork at the Hinahina School. The Maheno Committee asked for the removal of the shelter sheds and the addition of wooden floors, the extendi/ig of the asphalt playing area at the rear of the school, the forming of a gravelled footpath to the back gate, the repairing and covering of the cesspit to make it safe, and the remodelling of the head master’s room by removing the galleries, providing two extra windows for better lighting and cross ventilation, and providing a heating stove. It was stated that the committee was willing to find £SO and asked for the usual subsidies.— It was decided to do the work and apply to the Education Department for a subsidy.

Accounts amounting to £20,583 2s lid were passed for payment. Mr G. N. Boulton was appointed auditor of school committee accounts.
