DR A. W. HILL.
VISIT TO WEST COAST. KAURI FORESTS OF THE NORTH. (Pbb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 26. Dr Hill, director of Kew Gardens, London, left for Nelson and the West Coast to-night. At Nelson he will confer with the authorities of the Cawthrqn Institute, and then pay a visit to the Franz Josef Glacier. He wdl reurn to Wellington before leaving finally for the north. It is understood that the itinerary for Dr Hill’s tom- did not include 41 visit to the great kauri forests at Waipotia, North Auckland. Representations have been made that ho should not leave New Zealand before seeing thi s Scenic wonder, and it is hoped that arrangements will be finalised to enable the English botanist to include Waipotia in his northern programma.
