SANDERS CUP.

THE CANTERBURY BOAT. At a meeting of the Canterbury Yachting Association held at Lyttelton on Monday night the Secretary stated that challenges for the Sanders Cup had been received from Auckland, Wellington, Otago, and Southland. The Southland Yachting Association advised that the Dominion Conference would be held on Thursday, February 16 and that the first race would be sailed on the following day. Regarding the selection of a Canterbury defender for the cup, Mr M. Smith said the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club (Lyttelton) had no boat to challenge the Betty. It was reported that neither the Canterbury Club (Lyttelton) nor the Christchurch Club (Redcliffs) had appointed new delegates to act on the Canterbury Yachting Association and on the motion of Mr C. J. Treieaven. seconded by Mr T. L. Robinson, it was decided that the association dissolve on Wednesday, February 1. and that the challenges he handed over to Mr Andrews, owner of the Betty, to await the decision of the Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Club. A meeting of members of the Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Chib will be held at the boathouse, Monck’s Bay. on Saturday, to consider the matter of raising funds to send the boat and crew to the contest at Stewart Island.
