A STEAMER ASHORE
THE CRAWFORD CASTLE. A CALL FOR LIFEBOATS. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright ) LONDON, December 25. The Union Castle Line has received an S.O.S. from the steamer Crawford Castle (4300 tons), stating that she is drifting unmanageably ashore off the mouth ot the Humber. The message called for lifeboats and tugs. The vessel was en route to Tilbury.—A. and N.Z. Cable. A MORE CHEERFUL REPORT. ABLE TO PROCEED. LONDON. December 26. The Crawford Castle later reported that the weather had modified, and that she was able to proceed on her course.— A. and N.Z. Cable.
