DECREASE IN MEMBERSHIP. DROP IN MINERS’ FUNDS. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, December 26. The registrar of friendly societies’ return shows that 567 trade unions in Great Britain had a membership of 4,190,147 at the end of 1926, a decrease of 2,791,603 since the peak year of 1920. The miners’ funds, which were £1,391,295 in January, dropped fo £224,900 at the end of the year.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
