CHARLES COURTICE POUNDS. WELL-KNOWN ACTOR. (Press Association—By Telegraph— f'opynglii.) LONDON, Decernoer 21. (Received Dec. 22, at 11 p.m.) The death is announced of Charles Cour. tice Pounds, the actor ; aged 65.—A. and N.Z. and Sydney Sun Cable. Charles Courtic© Pounds, who was born in London in 1862, made his first appearance on the stag© at the Savoy in 1881 in the chorus of “ Patience.” Subsequently he appeared in a host of parts, and toured America and Germany. In 1916 he appeared as Ali Raba in “ Chu Chin Chow,” and continued to play this part almost throughout the record run of nearly five years.
