AMERICAN SHIPPING
ALLEGED DISCRIMINATIONS. COUNTER. MEASURES URGED. . (Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright ) NEW YORK, December 21. Charges similar to those contained m the annual report of the Shipping Boam that United States shipping is discriminated against by Great Britain, Australia, and Canada’, have been forwarded to President Coolidge by the New York Maritime Exchange. With regard to the alleged discriminations by the Australian Government in Pacific ports, it urges the United States to “ formulate and place in effect similar regulations on our. behalf whereby a surcharge equal to that imposed on our commerce shall be assessed in addition to the ordinary duty on traffic landed at ports in Canada destined for the United States.”—A. and N.Z.
