KING’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
EX-SERVICEMEN AS GUESTS. DUKE AND DUCHESS PRESENT. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, December 21. The King’s Christmas party at the royal riding school at Buckingham Palace was evidence that broken ex-servicemen are not forgotten Seven hundred from 40 hospitals were entertained under the auspices of the Not Forgotten Association. The school was converted into the semblance of a Latin Quarter restaurant by means of hundreds of coloured balloons. The walls were covered with holly and evergreens. Suddenly the little Duchess entered with the Duke and was bombarded with cottonwool snowballs as she walked to the monster Christmas tree Many guests were accompanied by nurees, being unable to leave their invalid chairs. The Duchess had a cheery word and a smile for everyone.—A. and N.Z. and Sydney Sun Cable.
